Each year the Virginia Certified Ecotour Guide Course certifies roughly 10-14 guides across the state of Virginia. Claire Neubert was certified in 2019 and her business partner, Linda Hamm, was certified in 2020. Together, they own and operate SHORED UP! based in Hampton, Virginia – and this year they have some very exciting news to share!
SHORED UP LLC has won the 2021 Virginia Green Travel Star Award for Green Tour of the Year. The award, one of the 15 highest awards given to Virginia tourism operators from across the state, will be presented at the Virginia Green Travel Conference on April 28 & 29th, 2021. This recognition is given to businesses for their outstanding efforts to protect the environment and support green tourism in Virginia.
The Virginia Green program is run through a partnership between the Virginia Department of Quality, The Virginia Tourism Corporation, the Virginia Restaurant, Lodging and Travel Association, and the Green Travel Alliance.
